Our resort offers entry level hospitality positions consisting of guest room attendants, kitchen utility and laundry utility. Those with applicable work experience may be considered for the following positions: front desk clerk, reservations agent, prep or line cook, accounting / human resources staff, cashier, retail associate, busser, server and general or skilled maintenance positions.

Food & Beverage

F&B is the largest department within Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort. F&B operations range from an elegant dining room with a desert mountain view to family style restaurants to an outdoor grill on the golf course. F&B is a great department to start work in as it provides abundant opportunities and career development skills.
Kitchen Utility: The job where it all begins and ends in F&B. Responsible for dish/pot machine operation, employee dining room operation, maintaining sanitation standards. Continual movement, heavy lifting required.

Dining Room Busser: This is a good starting position for the front of the house, as we promote many Bussers to Servers. Assist the Servers in providing F&B service in the dining rooms. Greet the guests, pour beverages, clear and reset the tables, stock side stands. Heavy public contact, lifting required. Tipped position.

Host / Cashier: Greet the guests as they arrive at the dining room. Seat guests promptly and in a manner that ensures proper service flow. Handle cash register / finalize guest payment transactions. Long periods of standing, heavy public contact. Previous cashiering experience preferred.

Cooks: Our F&B operations have areas that cooks are responsible for: line, broiler, grill, saut?, expediting, and/or pantry. Cooks may be assigned to the employee dining room or other areas depending on skill level, experience and necessity. Must maintain recipe, production, portion and sanitation standards. Long periods of standing, heavy lifting required.

Food & Beverage Server: Most server positions are promoted from within. Applicants must be willing to start as Dining Room Bussers and work up to a Server position. Servers provide best possible F&B service to our guests, complete side work, do suggestive selling of menu items. They may work day and/or evening shifts. Previous experience required in high volume dining rooms. Intense public contact, long periods of standing. Tipped position.

Rooms

One of the many highlights of the Rooms Department is the chance to work in a lively resort with a longstanding history. The opportunity to interact with our guests who come from around the world makes Rooms a great workplace.

Guest Room Attendant: The GRAs are the backbone of the Rooms Department. GRAs prepare the guest rooms and cabins for occupancy. GRAs work in a total team environment helping one another. GRA work requires constant movement, bending and lifting. GRA is a good starting job for possible advancement to many different jobs in Rooms at Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort.

Front Desk Agent: Extensive public contact with our guests at the front desk, and setting a positive first impression of service are the mainstays of the desk agent's duties. Duties include guest check-in, check-out, answering phones, providing information, problem solving and posting transactions. Long periods of standing.

Reservations Agent: The first impression of the resort a guest receives is from the Reservations Agents. They receive phone calls; make room reservations, and work with the sales department to book events. Heavy public contact. Involves continuous work on the telephone. We also have PBX Operator positions that involve operating the switchboard for the property; answering incoming calls and dispatching calls.
Fire & Security Officer: Patrol grounds ensuring security of guests and employees, provide escorts for cashiers, assist in medical call outs, complete reports. Must possess valid driver's license.

Laundry Utility: These positions are crucial to the operation. Ensure all the rooms and restaurants are provided with clean linens. Various positions involve sorting laundry, working with washers / dryers, folding, and pressing. There are also Laundry Driver positions that deliver the linens to the various outlets (must have valid driver's license).

Bellperson: Extensive public contact with our guests at the hotels. Sets a positive first impression. Assists guests with valet parking, carrying baggage, and transporting guests between hotels. Provide information and problem solving. Involves heavy lifting, driving and long periods of standing. Must have valid driver's license.

Retail

The Retail Department operates a wide array of stores throughout Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort. The stores we operate vary in size, design and type of merchandise. Retail Sales Associates experience broad public contact with the guests.

Retail Sales Clerk: Operates scanner type cash register, high levels of public contact, provides product information to the guests, stocks shelves, helps with inventory. Long periods of standing, lifting required.

Accounting

Accounting Clerk: Assists with accounting functions, payables, receivables, payroll, audit deposits, cashier balancing, daily reports. Accounting experience required, computerized spreadsheet experience helpful.

Night Auditor: Responsible for night audit functions in a front desk setting. Prepares audit using computerized program. Also requires public contact conducting some guest check-in and checkout. Knowledge of computerized accounting or front desk programs required.

Engineering / Maintenance

Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort needs experienced trades employees such as Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, HVAC technicians, Painters and General Maintenance. Our Engineering personnel do mainly preventive maintenance and repair work. They must be skilled enough to work on a wide variety of equipment, structures and designs from the historic to the modern. Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license. Copies of licenses and certifications plus a detailed work history of trade experience should be submitted with the application.
